What this app is — and is not
Before The Horn (operated by DL Multimedia, LLC) aggregates publicly published information about dam-release rivers: generation schedules, flow gauges, weather, and stocking reports. It is an informational companion. It is not a warning system, not a substitute for the operating authority's own warnings, and not affiliated with or endorsed by any dam operator or government agency.
Conditions can change faster than data
Schedules are revised without notice, releases occur unscheduled, gauges lag and fail, and notifications depend on networks we don't control. The app reports what the sources published and when; it cannot certify what the river is doing at this moment. When the app cannot verify conditions it says so — treat that state as if a release is coming.
You accept the risk
Moving water below a dam can rise several feet in minutes and can be lethal. By using the app you accept that entering, staying in, or crossing a river is your decision and your risk, made on your own judgment and the operating authority's official information — never on this app alone.
No warranty; limitation of liability
The app is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, including accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, DL Multimedia, LLC and its contributors are not liable for any damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the app or its information.
The data belongs to its sources
Underlying data is published by public agencies and remains theirs. Always verify with the operating authority linked on every conditions page before entering the water.
